Geology

Soil Testing

The undisturbed samples will be taken at certain intervals to the borehole depth termination and at the change of strata in borehole under application of various sampling methods and respective technical standards. For detailed guidance on the suitability of various soil sampling techniques in different types of soil, our geotechnical expert will provide professional advice. Sampling, handling, labeling and transport of samples will be executed in strict adherence with international standards and guidelines.

Undisturbed sampling using the open-tube sample as thin-walled or thick-walled tube samplers can be applied depending on the encountered soil conditions whereas the thick-walled tube sampler is applied for stiff and dense soils and for soils containing coarse particles. For soil types that are difficult to sample, sample-retaining or closure devices are necessary.

Ground Water Investigation

Ground water is an invisible natural resource. It is available in different proportions, in various rock types and at various depths on the crust of the earth. The ground water which was existing at shallow depths has gone deep due to over-exploitation. Groundwater is a renewable source and gets replenished after every rainfall, which is called rainfall recharge. The level of water seen in an open well denotes the uppermost surface of the zone of saturation of the porous media. This is called as the water table.

Groundwater investigation is attempted through either by direct or indirect methods. Test drilling is the direct approach to find out the resource. This is an expensive affair. The most familiar and successful method of groundwater investigation is carrying out Geophysical survey through Resistivity method.

Geophysical method comprise of measurement of signals from natural or induced phenomena of physical properties or sub-surface formation. Geophysical methods detect the differences or anomalies of physical properties within the earths Crust.

Mineral Investigation

Mineral investigation are carried out through various methods from surface investigation through outcrop mapping, structural study, mineral exploration methods etc., the final study of mineral exploration through core-drilling gives us the extensive and precise information of Mineral / Ore.

Mineral Exploration through core drilling includes various preparatory works like study of attitude of the Mineral / Ore deposit so as to decide the angle of drilling, pattern of drilling and Interval of drilling. Since this is an expensive method of investigation and only option available meticulous planning through experts are the prime importance of the study. Capstone is bound to provide such an expertise and to complete the investigation and provide the valuable report to the customers that lasts till the last tonne of the mineral gets mined out from the earths crust.

We review, assess, design, and implement exploration programmes to answer critical geological questions while adhering to exploration budgetary constraints. Our geologists have expert knowledge of the mechanisms of orebody formation and distribution within a wide range of geological and tectonic settings. The exploration services we provide include target generation, field mapping and analysis, remote sensing and geophysics, geochemistry, mineral system modelling, exploration project management, audits and valuations, exploration strategy and governmental advice, health and safety guidance, and programme implementation
